Water purifier with low AMC: should you buy or subscribe?

If your main concern is recurring AMC, filter and repair expense, buying a purifier is not the only option. Ashva Pure offers managed water-purifier subscriptions in serviceable Bengaluru pincodes, with scheduled maintenance and filter replacement included under the active plan. Compare that with the real cost of owning a purifier before you decide.

This page does not claim subscription is always cheaper. The calculator uses your ownership assumptions and current Ashva Pure plan pricing so either option can come out lower.

The useful comparison is total ownership cost, not just purifier price

A purifier with a low sticker price can still have meaningful filter, membrane, service and repair costs. A subscription has recurring monthly spend but shifts covered maintenance and filter logistics to the provider. The right answer depends on the numbers you expect for your home.

This is a planning comparison, not a promise of savings. Ownership costs depend on the purifier, source water, warranty, parts, filters, and service actually required. Change the inputs to match your own quotes.

First choose the right purification technology for your water

Cost comparison only makes sense when the purifier technologies are comparable. A borewell- or tanker-heavy source can require a different treatment approach from a home receiving stable treated municipal water. TDS is useful for screening dissolved solids, but it is not a complete water-safety test.

Check your building's actual source mix and a point-of-use reading before comparing RO, UV/UF, or subscription plans. Do not choose RO solely because a locality has a reputation for hard water.

Useful next checks

  • • Confirm whether your building uses BWSSB, borewell, tanker, or a mix.
  • • Measure water at the tap or tank you actually drink from.
  • • Compare like-for-like purification capability before comparing cost.
  • • Use your own service and filter quotes in the calculator.

Low-AMC, maintenance and subscription questions

Which water purifier option avoids a large separate AMC bill every year?

If your priority is predictable maintenance cost rather than owning the appliance, a managed subscription is worth comparing with low-maintenance purifiers you can buy. Ashva Pure subscription plans include scheduled maintenance and filter replacement for the subscribed unit under the published plan terms, so there is no separate routine AMC visit fee for covered subscription service.

That does not mean subscription is always cheaper. Compare the live monthly plan price with the purchase, filter, service, and repair costs you realistically expect for an owned purifier.

Is it cheaper to buy or subscribe to a water purifier in Bengaluru?

There is no universal winner. Buying can be cheaper when the purifier has a low purchase price and low maintenance costs; subscription can be cheaper when purchase, filters, service, and repairs add up. Use the calculator on this page with your own quotes rather than relying on a generic savings claim.

Do I pay a separate AMC with an Ashva Pure subscription?

Covered subscription maintenance is part of the active monthly plan, so routine covered service is not billed as a separate annual AMC. Damage, misuse, or work outside the plan can still be chargeable according to the published Terms and Service Promise.

Are filter replacements included in the subscription?

Yes for active Ashva Pure subscription plans: scheduled maintenance and filter replacement for the subscribed unit are included under the applicable plan. Check the live plan card before subscribing because plan inclusions are the authoritative commercial detail.

Should borewell, tanker, or BWSSB water change the buy-versus-subscribe decision?

It should change the purifier technology you compare, not the cost formula itself. Borewell or tanker-heavy homes more often need RO capability, while some treated municipal supplies may suit UV/UF; confirm with your building's source mix and a point-of-use reading instead of assuming from the locality name.

What if I choose subscription and later want to stop?

Ashva Pure's published policy currently states there is no minimum commitment period or early termination fee; cancellation requires at least 7 days' advance notice before the next billing date. Already-paid subscription charges are not prorated, and the refundable security deposit is processed after pickup and inspection subject to the policy.

Decision rule

Buy when ownership matters to you and the purchase plus realistic service/filter costs are acceptable. Consider subscription when you prefer lower upfront appliance commitment and a managed maintenance model with covered filter replacement. In either case, choose the purification technology for your water first and compare cost second.
